Thanks for sharing these poems. Since I take a more Buddhist than a Christian view of the afterlife I have never thought much about it other than that it is a place full of light. Your poems made me think that it could also be a place where we are more ourselves without a lot of the extranious hinderances we all have in this world. It made me kindly think of my father building something or planting a garden and of my mother reading aloud to a brood of children. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Rose! I share your hope for the Light, but/and I also have so much love for individuality and details, it's hard not to picture the New Life that way. Peace and joy to your parents and mine.
Thanks so much, Jason. There was a lot about my dad that baffled me, but it was always clear where he felt happiest and most himself. Easy to wish him a return to that, after seeing him lose so much.
Loved your expansive expression of the afterlife!
Indeed…I can just see your father striding along—freed from pain.
Beautifully written! You pictured your father just as I remembered him.
Furthermore, your poem almost made me smell the sweet wafting from Nancy’s kitchen!
Thank you, dear one!
Nancy's afterlife sounds to me, like a model for this earthly one, filled with love, joy, generosity and contentment. You parse it perfectly.
Foundations for the next life laid in this one! We're thinking similar thoughts, Kim. Thanks for reading.
Nancy Newmeyer. How we miss her.
The poem about your Dad is beautiful, just beautiful.

These are both beautiful. The poem about your father was especially moving to me.

I know your church community ♥️
Maybe the poem’s subject is Nancy N? Lovely evocation of her 🕊️
Maybe the second poem was a springboard from Paradise to Paradise?
You do indeed know that community! Good intuitions as usual. Thank you for reading, Shari.
That was so heartwarming, I'm sitting here in Colorado all choked up by your love of these people. thanks
Thanks so much, Weston. High praise from a man who writes so beautifully about his own loves.
