I love the complex word-sculpture of a sistina. Thank you for sharing your story. I felt the rain with you! And your momentary indecision. I would have done the same.

Being a retired nurse, I would have had a knee-jerk response and entered the window.

Turns out you made the RIGHT decision.

Your sestina built incredible mystery and angst as you descended the fire escape one

more time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this COLD and entertaining poem!

I love the drama of this and the way the form serves to intensify it. Nicely wrought.

Coincidentally, by the way, I posted a sestina this morning at almost exactly the same time you did, adding to the wonder and the weirdness of it all!
