I'm with you on this one! Love the poem and its reinforcement that you don't have to do this work in person!

Love this! Putting much needed positive energy, love, and connection between strangers into the election process. Love the “beating red-pencil heart.” And love the photo! Nice composition, with coffee cup in background. Was fun to see, bringing the poem to life visually. You could give unsplash a run for their money!

Thanks, Petrina! Just every now and then I have a photo of my own that's a better fit than one from Unsplash. Usually, though, they've got me beat (and help me out a lot). I'm glad you liked the poem.

I would love to have that last stanza printed on postcards and sent into the world. I did a batch of postcards with friends and thought of you 💛.

I love this form of being involved and reaching out to people. I wonder how many people stop to think about the postcards they receive. I hope lots! Love the poem - and the wonderful tension between blue ink and red pencil.

I really like your form of political activism, my wife can do that as well. I just want to shoot that one particular man who is such a scourge.

I'd settle for taking away his phone and enforcing his payment of ALL his debts. In the meantime: postcards! Thanks always for reading and commenting, Wes.

Thanks a million for this one, Elizabeth! I just spent an afternoon writing similar love notes with Portland Raging Grannies friends and expect to do it again. "Postcards to Voters" is a perfect match for my column this week. May I re-post it?

This piece resonates with me. I, too, get emotional, so I ended up doing postcards in 2008 and am doing them again now. Thanks for posting.
